Modelling and Feng Shui for Computers

posted on 4 October 2009 | posted in Karens Blog

Modelling and Feng Shui for Computers My goodness, what a cathartic experience! Over the last couple of days, we have been doing a ‘computer filing system audit’! No, not because we are bored silly and have nothing better to do, I hasten to add!!

We have welcomed Kathryn into our fold this week, because Lala is off on her travels for the next three months, and a fresh paid of eyes shines a light and highlights areas where we have become complacent. None of this has been intentional – it’s just that we know what we are doing so we do it, and often we forget that someone else may need to model what we do!

So this exercise has been much more about realising that for our ease, and everyone else’s, we do need to have proper systems and processes in place for even the simplest task...and recognising that having, and documenting, processes and procedures is good, because they can save huge amounts of time, which then free us up for doing the things we really want to be doing!

It has been an interesting and enjoyable experience breaking down our processes, improving them so they can be more easily modelled by others...and at the same time clutter clearing some of those old files that we really don’t need any more.

And I wonder how much more easily and effectively we will be able to work in future, as well as finding a good deal more clarity. I would definitely recommend Feng Shui for Computers – it works!!
